UBC Rock Walk

An interpretive walk jointly for Nature Vancouver and the Beaty Biodiversity Museum. Meeting location: Beaty Biodiversity Museum, 2212 Main Mall, UBC Campus (Upper Atrium beneath the whale). Meeting time & duration of walk: 10:15 am; 2 hours 15 minutes. Walk description: Rocks aren't just under our feet on the ground, they are found in the construction of many of the buildings around us. Join David Cook for a walk around campus to learn about the different types of rocks that make up UBC's stunning architecture. Discover where the rocks came from and how they were formed. Then focus on your feet and find out what type of bedrock Point Grey is made of. Cost: Members of Nature Vancouver can receive a 10% discount but must show their Nature Vancouver membership card at the Admission Desk.
